The Catholic Church?...I would not advise anyone to get involved in the Catholic Church. They appear to place the Pople at God level. He is a man. They pray to dead saints. Wrong answer. We pray to God through Jesus our Savior. He is the ONLY way. We do not have to confess to a priest to have our sins forgiven. We do not consult dead saints. We do not pray to dead saints. Hail marys will not cause God to forgive us of our sins. We can all know God through study of the bible, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Mary is NOT EQUAL to God. She is a woman who was blessed and highly favored by God. He allowed the birth our Savior to come through her womb. She is no longer a virgin either. I am sure there are more reason why not to involve yourself with the Catholic Church. Having said that, I am sure that there are some Christians in the Catholic church....If they believe that Jesus is the ONLY way to God. If the believe that their sins are forgiven ONLY through the death and ressurection of Christ.

Now that I have spoken out against the Catholic church, i would like to point you in the right direction.
The foundation of Christianity begins and and ends with the fact that God sent Jesus to die for our sins. That means that the price for sin, which is death, has already been paid for by the blood of Jesus. Why pay for something that has already been paid for?
What must you do to be saved? Believe in God, and believe in the work that He sent His Son Jesus to do. No doubt there will be many questions after that, but that is the foundation to begin your journey to know God. It starts right there. And believe me, you will never get to a point where you know everything about God. But, as you read the bible, study the bible, and pray, you will grow in the knowledge of God, and relationship with God. It is not a sprint, but a marathon. The journey will last your whole life on this earth. I would advise that you begin to read the bible. Maybe start out with in the book of Matthew, and read a chapter or two, at least, per sitting. Find a good bible believing church in your area if you can.
